Friends Book Sale

Final totals for the Fall Sale show that the Friends raised $14,400 in cash and $6,600 in direct acquisitions bringing the total value of the sale to $20,600. For the year 2006, the book sales raised over $40,000 in money and direct acquisitions for a new record.

For that achievement, we thank our community for their donations and purchases that made these sales possible. We are, as always, grateful to the staff of the library for their help and cooperation in accepting the many donations. We also thank our more than 70 volunteers who worked so hard and so often to make the sales so successful. We wish to single out those whose multiple efforts were crucial to our effort. These include but are certainly not limited to: Betty Guigno, Pat Cronin, Barbara Maxom, Paul Dillon, and Richard Karis. Special thanks to Nancy Bell for recruiting so many volunteers and to Chase Pugliese for essential publicity.

Our Spring Book Sale this year is scheduled for May 2, 3, 4, & 5.

This sale will not include children’s books. At the request of the community, we will hold a special children’s book sale in September. This will allow more space for parents and children to join the hunt for bargains. More information will be forthcoming on this new children’s sale.
