Children's Festival and Book Sale

Saturday, September 29

9:00 am to 2:00 pm


The Friends of the East Greenbush Library are hosting their first annual Children's Community Festival and Book Sale. The sale will include children's books for all ages, AV materials, and child care materials for parents. This event is for families and we are asking that no book dealers attend, please. Enjoy two special entertaining performers, food, raffle prizes, simple crafts, and activities throughout the day.


  • 11am -- Sylvia and the Magic Trunk -- Professional ventriloquist Sylvia "My Lips Don't Move" Markson will delight children of all ages with her comical cast of wise cracking characters. All ages welcome. Please register in person at the Children's Room Reference Desk or call 477-7476 ext 6.
  • 12:30pm -- TOTS (Teaching Others To Smile) the Clown will entertain children by twisting balloon animals during the book sale. No registration necessary.

September 6th, voting is open from 9am to 10pm.

Come in just to vote, or enjoy one of our programs as well:
  • Best in Show Stuffed Animal Pet Parade @ 10:30am -- ages 2-5, please register
  • Merdwin the Mediocre (magician/comedian) @ 4pm -- all ages children's program
  • Adirondack Baroque Concert @ 7pm -- adult program

This September, we’re celebrating the Smartest Card Month @ your East Greenbush Library!

The Youth Services Department is giving away a FREE BOOK to every child, Tween, or Teen who has a library card. Just show your card to a YS Librarian and you can pick out a FREE BOOK!
